Since joining Perkins Thompson in 1973, Andy Cadot has concentrated in the field of Creditors and Debtors Rights. He has represented numerous secured creditors in Chapter 11 reorganizations and has prosecuted over three thousand real estate foreclosure actions. He has also drafted numerous conservation easements for individuals and non-profit land trusts. Mr. Cadot was a shareholder and director of Perkins Thompson and a longtime member of its Executive Committee until 2006, when he elected Of Counsel status. He continues to work full time.
Mr. Cadot is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Cumberland County Bar Association, and the Maine State Bar Association (serving as Chair of its Bankruptcy and Reorganization Section in 1986-87).
Mr. Cadot is a past Member of the Maine Board of Environmental Protection. He is a Board member of Physicians for Social Responsibility, Maine Division; a Board member of the Maine League of Conservation Voters; past President and Board member of the Maine Audubon Society; past President and Board member of the American Cancer Society, Cumberland Unit; and Founding Trustee and current Clerk of the Freeport Conservation Trust
He has been listed since 1989 in the Maine Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law section of The Best Lawyers in America 2008 (copyright 2007 by Woodward/White, Inc. of Aiken, S.C.). Mr. Cadot is AV Peer Review Rated for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability by Martindale-Hubbell.
