Anthony J. Manhart joined Perkins Thompson as an associate attorney in 2006. Mr. Manhart’s practice focuses on bankruptcy and creditors’ and debtors’ rights, representation of Chapter 7 trustees, and the representation of various parties in formal insolvency and collection proceedings and out-of-court workouts. Mr. Manhart also serves on the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the District of Maine.
Mr. Manhart has been a presenter on bankruptcy law, creditors’ rights, and Maine's Freedom of Access Act. He is a member of the Maine State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the American Bar Association. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Committee for the Portland, Maine, Satellite Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association Northeast Chapter and a member of the Portland Museum of Art Contemporaries Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Portland, Maine, where he serves as Co-Chair of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee.
After graduation from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was an Articles Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review, Mr. Manhart was a law clerk for several justices of the Maine Superior Court. He then practiced law as an associate attorney for a law firm specializing in products liability in Boston, Massachusetts. Subsequently, Mr. Manhart was a law clerk for the Honorable Donald G. Alexander of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court for the 2005-2006 term.
