In 2009, Jeff Cohen joined Perkins Thompson as a tax and corporate attorney, after practicing with a law firm in New York. Mr. Cohen’s practice focuses primarily on tax and business law matters.
Mr. Cohen’s tax experience includes analyzing the tax implications of corporate combinations, structuring corporate and partnership transactions and providing general advice in the areas of corporate tax, partnership tax, estate tax, executive compensation and tax-exempt organizations.
Mr. Cohen's corporate experience extends to initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate governance, including filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Cohen received his Master of Laws in Taxation from the New York University School of Law following his graduation from the DePaul University College of Law.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Cohen received his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan School of Social Work and practiced in the mental health field.
Mr. Cohen is a member of the Maine State Bar Association and the American Bar Association – Tax Section.
