Shawn Leyden joined Perkins Thompson as an associate attorney in 2009. Her practice focuses on bankruptcy and creditor rights, representation of Chapter 7 trustees, and various parties in formal insolvency and collection proceedings, as well as out-of-court workouts. Ms. Leyden also represents debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases.
Since graduating from the University of Maine School of Law in 2007, Ms. Leyden has practiced as a consumer-bankruptcy attorney representing debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies. She also worked as a consumer-rights attorney specializing in predatory lending.
During law school, Ms. Leyden was a member of the Duberstein Moot Court team, which focuses on analyzing and resolving complex business bankruptcy matters. She is a member of the American Bar association, the Cumberland County Bar Association, the Maine State Bar Association, and the MASH (Maine Attorneys Saving Homes).
