Pro Bono Work

The attorneys at Perkins Thompson consider it their privilege and obligation to donate their time and resources to represent the indigent and to advocate for worthy community causes.

We routinely accept pro bono referrals from Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Inc., the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project ("ILAP") and Maine Legal Services for the Elderly. We represent low-income and indigent Mainers on a variety of matters, including family law, bankruptcy, tax, benefits, immigration status and housing. In addition, the firm represents pro bono citizen groups and non-profit organizations on regional and statewide environmental and energy matters.

Our attorneys donate hundreds of hours of pro bono service each year, and both the firm and individual attorneys have received recognition and awards from Pine Tree and ILAP for their exceptional pro bono efforts and commitment.
