Perkins Thompson's Litigation Practice Group includes a practice specialty in criminal law that runs the gamut from the defense of white collar criminal prosecution to defending individuals in state cases, to providing advice to corporate clients in connection with grand jury subpoenas and internal investigations. Mr Ciraldo also engaged in extensive
pro bono work as court-appointed counsel for defendants in The U.S. District Court for the District of Maine.

John Ciraldo, regularly appears in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine and has handled numerous appeals in various Circuit Courts of Appeals, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Ciraldo has served as co-chairman of the Committee that authored the Pattern Criminal Jury Instructions for the First Circuit (West 1998), and has spoken extensively on federal criminal defense, as well as on sentencing guidelines issues. He served as Adjunct Law Professor on Trial Practice and Criminal Procedure at the University of Maine Law School in 2006-07.
